LET THIS "lamb like" MIND BE IN YOU
Submitted by Ray Quinton on Mon, 2007/05/28 - 10:25pm
The Lord has spoken to me on three distinct and separate occasions regarding the Church! The first word I called "My End-Time Vision". This is the second, and the third I called "The Great Shaking!" This time I was in prayer, and in tremendous conflict in my heart over teachings which were and still are, prevalent in the church today! It was April, 1980! I had been seeking an answer from God for about 2 years at that stage! On this particular morning, "five words" echoed through my mind, from early morning until 'late' that night until eventually, I was driven to my knees to find out what the Lord was saying!
Then the Spirit of God began taking me through the scriptures! The 'five words' echoing through my mind were "Behold the Lamb of God". The words uttered by John the Baptist, when he saw Jesus approaching him at the River Jordan - John 1:36. This was the 'day after' John had given testimony that this was the Son of God - John 1:29-34. The Spirit then directed my attention to Matthew 11:2-3 where John sends a message from prison with the question "Art Thou He that should come, or do we look for another". I have heard all kinds of speculation on this, but the Spirit said to my heart "John did not 'fully' understand the "Lamb" aspect of Jesus' Ministry! (Without going into detail, I think it true to say, that the average Israelite was expecting the Lord to establish His Physical Kingdom and I don't think John was any different)
The Lord then went on to say that this mistake was typical of Human Nature and is still prevalent today! I sensed Him saying to me that the scriptures speak more of Him in His Lamb Character, than anything else. "The Whole Theme of the Scriptures is Redemption". He is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. I Peter 1:20 "Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was 'to come' to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ was pointing, when He predicted the 'sufferings of Christ' and the Glories that would follow!" Certainly He is revealed in the Old Testament as the One who would come as a fulfilment of the sacrificial types, as the One who would Redeem, as the One who would set the Captive free, as the One who would create in Israel a new Heart (which will be accomplished when they see Him who they have pierced!)
In the New Testament, during His Earthly Ministry, His Lamb Character is again seen in His obedience and submission and finally His death, where He is led as a lamb to the slaughter. Even His miracles were performed in His Lamb Character, in utter dependence upon the Spirit and submission to the Father. Then the Spirit opened my eyes to something and in the Spirit, I began to clearly understand this to relate specifically to what has been taking place for years in the Church. The Spirit of God began showing me that the prominence of the Lamb aspect of Christ is even more evident in Heaven, where He is glorified and worshipped more as a lamb, than in any other aspect - Revelation 5-7, 12:11 13:8 14:10 17:14 19:7 21:9, 22-27. The enemy of all that is Godly and true infiltrated the Church as an Angel of Light through men claiming to have Revelations from God but the overwhelming evidence of the spirit emanating from the resulting move is that these Revelations are not from the Lamb of God and therefore, not from God!
In Revelation 5, certain details begin to emerge relating to the sealed book:-
1) In Revelation 5:3-5 ...
The scripture says that no-one, either in Heaven or in earth, was found worthy to open the Book! A closer look at the Book which was sealed, reveals that it is the Book of Redemption. It was written on the inside and on the back and sealed, the way of writing 'contracts' under the 'law of Moses'. The Book in fact, contains the 'Title Deeds' of our inheritance! That which was lost, Jesus came to Redeem, for us as our Kinsman-Redeemer and He enforces His Claim to the Title Deeds, as a Lamb! The devil's current possession is mere usurpation - God still remains the rightful Proprietor! The Book is sealed, thus the 'full' details, the magnitude of our inheritance is not yet 'fully' revealed to us - that remains the future from our vantage point here on earth! And believe me this inheritance is not a restoration of that which Adam lost! Whoever believes that shallow gibberish has absolutely no concept of Redemption and it's real meaning and fulfilment. They have according to scripture been robbed of the truth and are men (and women) of depraved minds! But if they want their inheritance to be of this world then I for one wouldn’t stand in their way as they so rightly say "You get what you confess .. the desire of your heart"
In truth we still see through a glass darkly. In other words, the realisation in experience of our 'Full Inheritance' is still future! We have as the earnest of that inheritance, the Blessed Holy Spirit, and the promises of God pertaining to our full redemption and the comfort of knowing that our needs will be met on our earthly pilgrimage and that 'He will never' forsake us! Refer My New gospel, Part 2, "The Blessing of Abraham"
So then, Jesus, on earth, overcame as a 'Lamb" and in Heaven deals with this book as a 'Lamb"! The scene is one of "Judgement" and the "Lion-Lamb's" entry is by stages upon the right and possession of the earth, hence the "Seven Seals". You can believe me He does not need some sick minded covetous perverts to "prepare a Kingdom here on earth for Him to come and rule over!"
2) The Elder subsequently announced - Revelation 5:52 ...
"Behold the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the root of David has prevailed to open the book." A Lion, that regal, powerful, majestic animal, clothed with power, bold and fearsome to it's enemies, 'but' Revelation 5:6 says - "Then I saw a 'Lamb', as it had been slain ..." What a paradox! In fact what John saw was a 'little' lamb - The weakest of all creatures!
Announced as the Lion but overcame as the Lamb and qualified to open the Book as the Lamb! The significance of this is mind blowing! For the greatest Battle ever fought, was not in His capacity as the 'Lion' but as the 'Lamb'. The truth of what God was saying dawned on me! Oh! that it would reach the minds of your spirit as you read this!
We are over comers, we are children of the King. We are rich in Him, we are alive forevermore, we have been made partakers of Christ and, therefore, share in His Authority, but as He voluntarily laid aside His reputation and the use of His own power and attributes in a Lamb-like attitude, so the scripture says ...!Let this mind be in You!
At that point in time, the Spirit said certain things to me which I will convey as He said them ...
a) The teachings relating to our position, authority, rights etc., currently circulating the church, are not altogether wrong, but there is a spirit behind the teachings promoting an attitude in God's people which is not a Christ-like Attitude! Lamblike!
b) The devil is the self-asserting one! He had no claim to the Throne of God but tried to assert himself. This is just the opposite to Christ, who was hereditary Lord of all creation but never held onto His rights! The grabbing, demanding, grasping spirit, is not of Christ! Phillipians 2:6 "Who did not consider equality with God, something to be grasped (NIV) but He let go! The devil grabbed at or grasped at equality with God and will be cast into hell !!
c) Contrary to the way we may think, humanly, if we want to enter into the fullness of our inheritance and experience the victories of Christ in our lives, then we must become lamb-like in our attitude! It is opposite to the way we may think, but it is the way Jesus overcame His arch-enemy, it is the way of the Lamb, it is the way to enter into our inheritance, for is that not the way in which Jesus led us!
The current teachings may then, appeal to our minds and appear to lead us into the fullness, but we will only enter into that fullness when we adopt the Lamb-like attitude
IN CONCLUSION, THEN !
It appears that the church is making the same age-old mistake, namely that of misunderstanding the implications of Christ's Lamb Character and Ministry! The consequent results could be disastrous. Contrary to what we think, by assuming the Lamb Attitude, we would not be forfeiting our rights, but in fact would find this the means of entering fully into our inheritance in it's totality!
Faith would not be negated, for our faith would now assume a new dimension - that of love which seeks out not it's own and which is not self-assertive. We would not demand from God that which He knows to be ours, we would not assert our rights as though God did not know what they are! This is not that we don't have rights, it's the attitude towards those rights which grieves God's Heart! We will in fact conquer as lambs - our authority is not lessoned, our inheritance is not jeopardised!
I believe that the carnal display of gifts is far removed from their redemptive qualities and exercise in love in the Redemptive Work of the Lamb - which work we now have a share in! I believe the Church, which the gates of hell will not prevail against is the sacrificial Church - not the militant one!
We do need to assert our position and rights in Christ, in the face of the enemy attack - to the enemy not to God! Amen! |
