"REIKI" healing phenomena- Warning- Be carefull
Submitted by Reaching Out on Sat, 2006/10/14 - 8:40pm
REIKI – THE NEW PHASE SWEEPING S.A. It’s advertised in our local newspapers, it’s on the internet, it’s promoted in our Metro magazines and winning a session of this ‘healing phenomenon’ is now the in-thing. No longer reserved for the ‘elite’, Reiki is becoming more popular and well known, but what exactly is it?
Well firstly I’ll tell you what it isn’t – Reiki is not a doctrine or religion, so all different types of people enjoy it. It is, however, a form of spirituality (as stated by a local Reiki Master). Reiki can best be described as a spiritually guided life-force energy which is used and channeled through the Reiki practitioner in order to produce healing and relaxation.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? But the important question is, is it good for you? Just as a person needs to be cautious about what medications they take, as it could be detrimental to their health, so should we be cautious when it comes to things of a spiritual nature, no matter how much the benefits are advertised.
In practicality, Reiki is supposed to be a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of hands-on healing. Recipient reports of experience of Reiki include increased energy, reduction of pain, deep relaxation and a general feeling of well being. Reiki initiation attunes a practitioner to become a channel for the Reiki energy and is apparently a powerful, life-changing experience for physical, mental and spiritual growth.
Now before you all rush out to try this new magical form of healing let’s review Reiki and apply it to a Christian and non-Christian view.
Amazingly enough, even though from a Christian point of view Reiki is not something to get involved with (I’ll get into why shortly), there are “Christian Reiki practitioners” (oxymoron anyone?) who claim that there’s nothing wrong with it and that it is simply a form of healing given to us by God. Numerous Bible verses are thrown around subjectively in an attempt to back up these claims. Because the versus used show that Jesus healed people by the laying on of hands, it is suddenly claimed that Reiki is therefore God’s way of getting Christians (and non-Christians, since they can use it too) to use or develop their spiritual gifts of healing, as written in 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11.
There are a few problems with this theory though:
1. Not all people were healed by touch. Very often Jesus simply rebuked the source of ailment, whether or not He was in the same vicinity as the sick person. Long distance healing cannot be done by a level 1 Reiki practitioner but only by something who’s also done level 2 and 3. If God has given a person the gift of healing, then their gift will not be dependent on how many levels they’ve learnt with Reiki.
2. The Spirit in Jesus which healed the sick was the same Spirit in Jesus who raised the dead. Reiki cannot raise the dead. Does that mean that God has given the Christian Reiki practitioners an incomplete gift?
3. When Jesus healed someone they were instantaneously healed as shown by the following three examples taken from the Bible:
Luke 4:38&39 (NKJV) Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
Matthew 8:2&3 (NIV) A man with leprosy came and knelt before Him and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.
Mark 10:51&52 (English Standard Version) And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed Him on the way.
Unlike the immediate healings performed by Jesus, Reiki healings are not instantaneous and sessions can take up to an hour. Very often a patient has to go back repeatedly to the Reiki practitioner for further sessions until the full healing process is complete. The belief held by some that Jesus actually healed by using Reiki thus seems unfounded. The only thing Jesus and Reiki practitioners have in common is the occasional laying on of hands, but even then Jesus could simply touch a persons hand and they were healed of whatever ailment they had, wherever it was. With Reiki, the practitioners hands have to continually go up and down the patients body, from head to toe, as the healing energy is transmitted.
It seems that there are many Christians who want the gift of healing but are too impatient for God to give them this gift. Healing with Reiki is done by “Christian practitioners” who are too impatient to wait for the real gift to be sent by God and thus turn to something artificial which they latch onto and claim must certainly be God-sent in order to justify it.
Despite all the Bible verses used to back up their claims that Reiki is acceptable for a Christian to perform and receive, it doesn’t take more than a closer look at these verses to see that they’ve been manipulated to try call that which is evil, good.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Unlike the results of Reiki healing, any healing which comes from God is perfect and complete. If you subject yourself to Reiki healing you are ultimately opening yourself up to spiritual attack, even if the healing is done by a professing Christian. Don’t believe the lies for a second that God will protect you, because He cannot protect you if you step out of His will and dabble with something that is not of Him – of which Reiki isn’t. Likewise, I cannot in any way expect God to protect me if I willingly choose to sit in the middle of the road during rush hour traffic. That would just be foolishness and I would have to suffer the consequences thereof.
In order to become a Reiki practitioner, a person has to go through an attunement (a ritual or initiation) whereby “energy” from the Reiki master is passed to the recipient, without which the practitioner cannot perform Reiki. As described by a Reiki master, the attunement procedure is a ceremony of spirit. That alone should sound warning bells for a Christian. If not, then read below what happens as part of the attunement initiation and what the Reiki master does to the recipient: · Lightly touch the forehead (third eye). · Draw the symbols over the forehead (third eye). Again drawing each symbol once, and chanting the name of the symbol three times. The use of eastern symbols, the third eye and chanting are all synonymous with pagan activities of which Christians are to refrain from. As a Christian, do you really want to receive healing from someone who has gone through this pagan initiation?
So how then does Reiki affect a non-Christian, atheist or agnostic?
Not believing in God or not believing in the laws of God, does not exempt one from suffering the consequences of breaking these laws. Let me give you an example: when I was in Australia last year I almost felt as if I were separate from the law as I was not an Australian citizen and was only visiting there for a short time. After all, unless I did a major crime what could they really do to me? However, at the same time, despite how I felt I still knew that in reality I would be subject to punishment by the Australian judicial system should I have broken any of their laws and had been caught. In reality we are all subject to the laws of God, whether or not we believe in them. Not believing in sickness will not prevent you from becoming sick, neither will not believing in death prevent you from dying. Whether you believe in it or not, dabbling with things spiritual which do not fall within the confines of God’s will, will have negative consequences, whether it be immediate, later on in life or at the final judgment.
While I know this all sounds ominous, allow me to ask you this: if the healing powers of Reiki are not from God, then who are they from? Many people would say that surely something which does good, such as Reiki, cannot come from something bad (i.e. satan). But what if that “something good” is used to keep one from being within the will of God? Surely that something good is then bad? If something good is used for evil purposes, then it is no longer good. The devil thus is spreading a lie that Reiki is good, and we know that satan is the father of lies:
John 8:44 (English Standard Version) You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
1) He can imitate good
2 Corinthians 11:14 (NIV) And no wonder, for satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
2) He can imitate the miracles of God
Exodus 7:10-12 (NIV) So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it become a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts. Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake.
I have heard it foolishly exclaimed that because there is no instance found in the Bible where satan healed someone, then it is presumed that he simply does not heal.
If God heals then you can be certain that that is a trick the devil won’t hesitate to cash in on through imitation.
When Christians talk about spiritual warfare, demonic oppression, attack etc. we’re not talking about a fable we’ve been taught to believe since the Sunday School room, we’re talking about something each and every believer has experienced and been through.
When it comes to things of a spiritual nature, don’t mess with what you don’t know. You’ll only be opening up doors to yourself that you’ll wish you had kept shut (this also goes for acupuncture, hypnosis, therapeutic touch, transcendental meditation and even yoga, to name but a few).
Don’t be hard-hearted or stubborn when it comes to this. Whether you believe in Him or not, God has given you a brain, complete with the function to think rationally and objectively. He doesn’t need to spell it out for us that Reiki is not of Him – just read the Bible and apply a bit of common sense.
God bless,

Re: Reiki: Not quite... so bad...
Hello Reaching Out.
I'm an Reikian. And it is not a religion, only a complemment.
We say that Jesus was a perssone that it was born with all the chakras wide open. that´s why it was born with this capability.God made Him like this to help us.
that´s why saints can heal to but never like Jesus... Jesus was perfect, humans are not.
Not everyone can master the tecnique. Because most of the people does not have all the chakras open as it is necessary.
I've met people that when chaneled with reiki become better perssones. carring about other, trying to help everyone etc...
how can you say that it is something evil?
To me, Reiki is an "incomplete" tecnique that can help me and others i help on the journee to God. that´s why it takes so long to heal someone.
Even so, i prefer to take some time of my personal life to heal someone, insted of not doing nothing...
because everytime i help another perssone i bring it closer to God.
Sorry for the bad english, everyone.

Re Reiki and Christianity:My experience of the Reiki deception
Hi, I am a Christian and I have studied Reiki. MY first experience led me to believe it was safe, because the person was a Christian and when we arrived at her home she had the Holy Bible open. I felt safe about it....I was very wrong. Let me tell you I was misguided and unsure and wish I would of read this site before I went into Reiki. I went to a class called "introduction to Reiki" by a different Reiki master, non christian. The class was 6 sessions and before each session I would pray and read my bible and ask my Lord to show me if this is not right or open my eyes if it is good. I would listen to Praise music before each class. My second class, some students stated I gave them headaches or they could not be near me without feeling uncomfortable. ODD, I am thinking, and then the Reiki master would not be near me either, more odd behavior. I am stubborn and wanted to really understand this laying on of hands and hopefully be able to heal my son with God's love of his illness. My love for my son and hope for healing clouded my better judgement as a Christian.
The Reiki master on the last day opened a portal to another world, I was the only one unable to see this and the others could see this. This is not an innocent energy healing of laying on of hands. There is an evil presence there, and my Lord graciously protected me from this.
PLEASE do not partake in this. At one point I felt the evilness attempt to inhabit my space, please avoid this at all cost, your soul is so important to the LORD.
Thank you to the original poster that shared this along with many wonderful bible verses.
I pray if your reading this that our Heavenly father opens your heart and gives you wisdom, may you not turn to new age healing of reiki, but turn to the one and only true healer Our God and Our Savior. Through prayers and reading the Holy Bible will you find spiritual healing.
For we are complex creations of body, mind and soul, do not lose your soul over this for it is better to enter heaven then be deceived by evil on this earth. MY eyes were opened and I pray yours will be too.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Reiki
Hi,
I just want to say that there is only one Healer and that is Jesus, He holds the keys to Heaven and Hell. Like this one person said, satan will do anything, even use love or healing others to let God's Children go astray.
Our bodies are only the vessel for our spirit and is temporary, first we must search for the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.I have epilepsy and have been prayed for and I believe Jesus did die on the cross for our sins and bored our inequities, but still I am not healed. That's ok, because I believe that the Will of God be done first. I believe God has a plan for each one of us and when we try to by pass His plan or Will we are walking away from Him. I know that when I die one day I am going to have a glorious body, cleansed by the Blood of Jesus and forever will I live with my King I love so much.
Maybe one day He will feel the time is right for my healing so that I can testify and help others who walked the same path as me. Either way I am still happy, like Jesus said, rather lose your eye or your leg if it hinders you to go into the Kingdom of God, so our bodies is not the most important, does it not need to die for the spirit to be alive?
If we are seeking things to fulfill our fleshy desires like healing for the wrong reasons, we are dying in the spirit. With reiki we are not glorifying God, therefore I believe it is not something a born again Christian should get involve with.
My two cents, all the best my brothers, AMEN!
A christian response to Reiki
Hi friends,
Wow--what a lively debate here! LOL!
Well, I am a Christian and a Reiki practitioner, and I know very fully that what I am doing is of God, and is really helping people to heal. I do however know that there are those who don't believe this, and don't understand, and I respect the place they're at as well.
I know various Bible verses are quoted so often to prove people's points one way or the other, and very often you can "prove" completely opposite points on any given issues, just by trying to find particular Bible verses that support your point of view (take "Reiki", gay marriage, infant baptism, and abortion as examples).
From my perspective, the highest calling of the Christian is NOT strict Bible-orthodoxy (I know... radical statement right?). The Bible has been used as justification for killing and hating just as much as it's been used as guidance for loving and getting to know God better. I do believe the Bible are holy words--however, ultimately until we EMBODY these words are loving, holy, joyful action in our hearts, relationships, actions, and lives, the Bible remain empty lifeless words on a page.
The highest expression of the Christian is to love as God loves, and to "become an instrument of peace" as St. Francis lovingly put it in his famous prayer.
I know the term "Reiki" can be a stumbling block for many Christians, however. I choose to call the work I do "Christian Energy Healing". This isn't something new-agey or weird, but it's simply a technology for healing that is relatively new to the healing and medicinal world of the West, where for centuries now we've relied solely on drugs and surgery to "heal" others.
When people approach this work with fear and doubt (especially those who call energy healing "demonic" or evil), I once again reiterate that it's a simple technology that really can be used in helping the healing process for anyone, Christians included, though not Christians alone.
If someone takes a medicine--a pill or an herb--and feels better, we don't call it "demonic" if it works for a non-Christian as well as a Christian, do we? If something works, it just works. This is the same with "Reiki" or what I call "Christian Energy Healing."
I tell people who think it's some new age weird power: "Look, think back to the 1500's. If it was possible to have 2 people way back then talking to each other from 100 miles away on cell phones--I mean, this WOULD be possible if people had known about it back then--there wouldn't have been a single religious person, Christian or otherwise, who wouldn't have called this "talking on cell phones" demonic, new-agey, "of Satan", and they would have used all kinds of Bible verses to back up their opinion, I'm sure.
However, today, we know that there's a simple technology underlying cell phones. It doesn't depend on one's religious affiliation, or any particular Bible verse to work--it just works for everyone. God's light shines on the righteous and unrighteous alike.
I think over the long term, some Christians will totally reject these methods of healing, and some will embrace them as part of their healing path. And so the path of Christian healing will continue to unfold perfectly.
Blessings and Peace!
----Michael
So lets look at what God has to say...
http://www.onlyjesuschrist.co.za/Jesus vs Reiki.docx
Reiki = occult- See here
The above page has moved. For an in depth view on reiki and what the Word of God has to say look here http://www.scribd.com/doc/27930647/Jesus-Christ-Reiki-Occult-and-New-Age or just google "Christ occult reiki" . the argument is VERY straight forward, reiki=occult.
What does God say about the occult? see the document.
[Reiki followers (and for that matter all outside Christ), can't you see that God loves you so much that He offered His own Son in order to save you from eternal hell? if you don't take this offer, hell is what you deserve, and will get!]
Well, the reality is that
Well, the reality is that Lucifer means "Light Bearer" and Reiki is nearly the same name.
I believe Reiki is from the Devil and has nothing to do with Jesus.
Reiki and religion
Hello people
I thought I would join in as my girlfriend has just come home from a reiki session as the practitioner. I was raised a Christian but have recently given my beliefs away so I'm coming from a religious upbringing. I have no problems with Christianity apart from some negative affects it had in my life but don't think I'm trying to bring it down or anything like that.
I was raised full orthodox, charismatic Christian with all the bells and whistles, it was nothing to see people speaking in tongues or being knocked flat to the floor every week. We were taught that if it was not in the Bible then it was evil. At the same time (as previously stated) Bible verses were used to 'prove' or 'disprove' a great many things that in my view were down to personal interpretation.
In my opinion, if you are a Christian and are walking with God; you should let Him guide you and speak to you through intuition and your moral compass. If you rely upon other peoples ideas or decipherings of a book written two thousand years ago by a culture that is so vastly different to ours that there is much lost in translation; you may be living with a disadvantage.
The Kingdom of God is within you! Search yourself and ask for guidance from God. Remember that He will work through you in mysterious ways. He will work through you in ways of His choosing that you don't understand. It is not your job to be all knowing or perfect, leave that to God.
My advice is simple. If you wish to know whether reiki is of God or not, go and experience it and ask God to reveal it to you, don't just rely on advice.
Thank you.
What the Bible says is more important than your opinion.
I agree with Reaching out ministries who have scriptural backing. The respondents (which I donot call born again Believers) who practice reiki have no scriptural backing, but justy the opinion. If the respondents call themselves Christians, they would not practice non biblical, mysticsmn. Your opinion is from the pits of hell and the father of lies has deceived you from receiving your true healing. Donot abort your salvation for a moment of looking after your flesh. In your flesh dwells no goodness.
Clearly the respondents have not have had an encounter or relatiotionship with Jesus & are not filled with the Holy Spirit who leads us to all understanding. No reiki master is a source of healing. God Is. You need to accept Jesus as your Lord & Saviour & have a relationship with Him. Not a Religion. Religion calls you a christian. Relationship calls you a SON & Daughter of God. I am a child of God & beleive that He sent His one & only SON Jesus who died & rose again on the third for the remission of my sins. By His stripes I am healed.
Question: "What does the Bible say about energy healing / energy medicine?"
Answer: In a world where people are constantly grasping for deeper meaning, deeper spirituality, and a higher purpose, energy healing is one more New Age philosophy which presents itself as very desirable to human beings. Born with sin, we all come into the world with the strong belief that we are the center of the universe—that we are in control of our health, our bodies, our lives, our circumstances, and our destinies. Those who have not turned to God for Truth have no choice but to search for it within themselves.
The practice of energy healing is not in itself a religion, but it is a pathway to one's own spirituality. It leads us on a personal journey that encourages us to focus on ourselves and how our energy is in synch with the energies of the cosmos, the earth, and all other life. Through this, owe can supposedly be taught to heal ourselves by using clairvoyance to “visualize” where the negative energy is in order to determine the cause of the problem, whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual.
Reiki, a widely used energy healing technique, was said to have been developed by a Buddhist monk who used cosmic symbols for healing. Reiki claims to work by removing obstructions to the flow of life force energy throughout the body. These obstructions are allegedly caused by negative thoughts, actions or feelings, which some believe are the fundamental cause of illness. Many even claim that employing this method is the way Jesus obtained His healing power, rather than attributing His power to the fact that He is God.
The use of energy healing encourages us to put our full trust in ourselves and our own bodies, which is a form of worship. For most who participate in energy healing, no recognition is given to the one true God, nor does He receive any praise for healing. The person using these methods of healing has made himself into his own god. Getting involved in energy healing is spiritually dangerous, to say the least.
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the One who came to heal. “Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest'” (Matthew 11:28). God does not want or expect us to help ourselves. He is the source of life, of all that is good and true. Those who refuse to acknowledge Jesus will never come to a place of spiritual healing. “For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them” (Matthew 13:15).
Open the Eyes for the devil who is a liar is deceiving even the illect & so called educated people.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS COMING! PREPARE THE WAY.

Wow...Carl you've definitely hit the nail on the head.
Wow...Carl you've definitely hit the nail on the head. I agree 100% with you. Keep on being a light for this world!
re:reiki and religion
dear Michael
having a "religious upbringing" does not make you a true believer.
hearing that christianity had "negative effects" on your life seems to support that.
being truly in the spirit of GOD does not have negative effects on your life!
could it not be that, having accepted reiki and having it allowed to be practiced in your house ,has led to you
"giving away" your believes?!
we must also not forget that faith is not something that we have.
faith is something that GOD gives us -when we ask for it!
the bible is not just some book written by some old, lost culture.
it is the manual, the word of GOD!
and contrary to popular believe it is very much relevant to us today.
the manual,word has not changed.
we,as society have changed.
and because we do not follow the manual anymore that is why society is in such trouble.everywhere!
we adjust and use the bible to suit our ways instead of following the bibles instructions.
which ultimately are GOD's words!
yes,the bible has been "decyphered" and wrongly interpreted.
we have, after all, been warned against that-in the bible!
that is why we are told to read the bible OURSELVES,in HIS spirit,so that we can receive HIS message.
i pray for you and hope that you will find your (true)way back to GOD.
HE is waiting for you!
we often forget:we are not holding on to HIM.HE is holding on to us!!!
Reiki Me No More
I'm a researcher who has been investigating "alternative modes of healing" for over a decade now and have reached a conclusion that deserves careful attention (whoever is reading this). Universal Life Force is such a VAST Playing Field---it's dangerous to open yourself to unknown forces! I have accounts of people who don't even know each other reporting some very frightening things happening to them AFTER getting either "attuned" or receiving alleged "treatments" from practitioners of all different styles of Reiki. We're all aware of this 21 day cycle cleansing routine; the mantra the practitioner uses: eg. some symptoms may crop up, etc. This is all a part of the LIE. What is the LIE? It's the source of the Energy. PROVE IT...THAT Reiki "comes from GOD". Can you? No you can't. Just because you "saw" some what appear to be "healings"; you (BELIEVE). The Evil One plays tricks like this all the time. False "miracles"; false "prophets"; false "prophesies".
I've seen people scared out of their wits with all the nightmares they've experienced after "attunements". Reports of feelings about "being invaded in more ways than one" abound. Yet, others who have healing sessions have reported to me that their particular cases got worse, (and stayed that way) until they sought another "medical" or "prayer" intervention. What's going on? Something is not right for sure. Concerning all these Biblical references, I'm not an expert in that department but somethings that were said on this blog are correct. Jesus Christ DID heal spontaneously (when there were results). He DID call bad forces out in the NAME OF HIS FATHER. Jesus DID NOT employ symbols of dubious origin in the during the scope of these healing events. Another important thing that came to my mind was that instance in the Bible where it says a woman touched the hem of his robe and she was instantaneously "healed" from her ailment. Jesus specifies that at the moment she touched his garment, he felt "an energy going out of him". PAY ATTENTION HERE! I have NEVER heard REIKI behaving in such manner. As a matter of fact, it's shown by science that (even if the practitioner is at a low energy level, he/she can still heal the other without any problem). Reiki even states that NO ENERGY is drained whatsoever from the practitioner. We have an OPPOSITE scenario described in the Bible. Could HIS form of hands-on healing be MORE like "prana healing"? Because in that type of hands-on healing, the practitioner CAN and OFTEN DOES feel an energy expense. Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT advocating "prana healing", I'm only making an educated guess.
As a learned woman, my mind/logic informs me to stay clear away from Reiki. As a human being in geneal, my intuition tell me to stay away from Reiki. And my "Christianity" confirms the previous two.
Re: Reiki Me No More- Another powerful testimony - against Reiki
This very comprehensive testimony of dabbing with New age and REIKI SHOWS THE DECEPTION THE DEVIL USES with these three practitioners.
THESE THREE TESTIFY HERE New Age Experiences in Spiritual Warfare of their ordeal with Reiki that led to possession by spirits: Below an extract: about 1/3 into the testimony:
This testimony are long and shows just how wide the deception of new age are and It include Reiki...
Reiki..... Also deliverd from it
Hi,
Is it not so that the reiki practitioner is given the gift of healing after studying under a reiki master?
Who is our true Master? Jesus Christ right....we study under Jesus so that we may know how to have eternal life and glorify our Almighty Father, Yahweh!
Is it not so that the founder of traditional Usui Reiki, Dr Mikao Usui, gave them certain principles to live by.
Do we not live by the principles/examples given to us by Jesus Christ?
Is it so that reiki therapy involves the transferral of healing energy from the reiki practitioner to the receiver?
Does the healing energy not come from the Holy Spirit to those who do divine healing in the name of Jesus Christ?
It is quite clear that a true born again Christian, a follower of Christ, cannot indulge in reiki and think he is in right standing with God.....if he does he has sadly been deceived by our unseen enemy, satan!
"I once was a reikimaster for many years and now a re-born Christian. I am now FreeFromReiki and wanted to share that Jesus Christ and reiki have nothing in common, on the contary, The final proof is; that the power of reiki left me completly and the reiki symbols siezed working after I've got baptized and repented of my sins" http://www.freefromreiki.com/stromen_en.htm
Be blessed in Jesus name!
I unfortunatly learned reiki
I unfortunately learned reiki thinking it was a good thing.
Well I did not do it for years and then when I got in a car accident. I Unfortunately decided to do a free healing and I worked on this guy with bad energy He could not even muster up a hello, and his right knee hurt. The next morning MY right knee hurt and all the energy went up to my head and I screamed out oh no, I knew something wrong happened. over time my life got worse and worse and my personality changed and the evil I picked up from this guy had possession on me I am still dealing with it.
It's been over a year. It made me want to kill myself all the energy drained out of my body that went on for months. Then something started talking through me. It kept showing pictures in my mind of the abusive childhood I had and I became scared of everything. I could not go to church. I really wish I never did it. Or learned it. I thought it was a good thing if I help someone it will help me too. But I had been in a car accident and my fields were probably low. I will never ever do it again.
I can't go to the church I was going to people saw me change. I am still trying to get rid of it in Jesus's name. I am going to go to a non denominational church this Saturday
People can think what they want. But this is truth
I am usually a kind loving person. This thing that got on me mad me extremely depressed and like I said I am still dealing with it. I had an abusive childhood and it kept showing me pictures in my head about it. Things I knew happen but had worked through and was living a pretty peaceful life. Making better choices. This thing made me scared of everything and confused my mind.
( Pardon me if anything is spelled wrong)
People really do not know what they are doing with this stuff.
I think Reiki is just a new age thing, The thing of the times. They even do it at hospitals now.
Any way that is an experience I am having and i have an enitiy attachment or some kind of spirit in my house and around me.
Good luck to the Reiki healers
take care

Reiki - the truth
the page refered to in a post above re Reiki vs Christ has moved.
for an in depth view on reiki and what the Word of God has to say look here http://www.scribd.com/doc/27930647/Jesus-Christ-Reiki-Occult-and-New-Age or just google "Christ occult reiki" .
the argument is VERY straight forward, reiki=occult and occult=satan thus reiki=satan.
What does God say about the occult? see the document or rather read His Word.
Don't just come here and proclaim to be a Christian if you are not and worse, don't try to soft-paddle reiki as anything which should be acceptable to God or His children. and if you think i'm heavy, boy, you aint seen nothing yet...
Reiki followers (and for that matter all outside Christ), can't you see that God loves you so much that He offered His own Son in order to save you from eternal hell?
if you don't take this offer, hell is what you deserve, and will get!
Reiki - Gabriel
Thank you for the information. It is important that we know as Christians what deceptions are out there or what we should steer clear from. Reiki, yoga, martial arts, eastern meditation or breathing techniques and the list goes on and on and on...
I believe that each of us will be persuaded by the Holy Spirit with regard to certain things but it is important that we warn one another. I would actually like to go as far as saying that it is our duty to do this.
I kicked against certain teachings received (not long ago) about worldly feasts we have and shouldn't but slowly I'm starting to open up to these teachings and I realise that they are not healthy in building a relationship with God, therefore I am now ready to stop doing some of them and willing to research the origin of the feasts we hold in order to steer clear from any pagan etc rituals.
My point is, that it's great that you're giving this information because we need to point one another in the right direction however:
I feel that your last sentence is not the behaviour that Christ would want us to live out to others. We cannot force others to accept Him, nor can we manipulate others by using fear as a tool. Manipulation, Intimidation and Domination is a form of witchcraft or sorcery and therefore you should take care in how you bring your message across. There must be another, less manipulative, less aggressive way of doing it. Maybe think of the fruit of the Spirit: Love, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faith, patience and self-control and see how you can tell people to accept Jesus without creating fear in the future.
Synonyms to Manipulation: exploit, play (upon) Related Words engineer, finagle, jockey, maneuver; beguile, bluff, cozen, deceive, delude, dupe, fool, gull, hoax, hoodwink, kid, snow, take in, trick; intrigue, machinate, plot, scheme; arrange, contrive, devise, finesse, mastermind; cheat, chisel, defraud, fleece, gyp, hustle, swindle
Reiki - the truth
Dear Johanita,
Me thinks a little anger at stages might not be misplaced - that is anger at the manifestations of satan, of which reiki is one. Jesus Christ was justly angry whilst ridding the temple of merchants.
I have to admit that self-control at times is difficult, although called for and indeed prudent, so forgive my un-diplomatic approach at times.
In the end though, the fact that we are lost for all eternity without Christ is a fact which needs urgent attention and indeed action.
In as far as discerning the manifestations of the enemy are concerned the children of Christ are called upon to be merciless in addressing them - the surgical removal of cancer has always involved drastic steps, the mere use of balm, or the present day much preferred icing-sugar, will not do.
Ii end by quoting Christ:
Mat 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

if you play with mud you will get dirty
I recently visited my sister, whom I had not seen in almost 4 years. Great was my astonishment when she told me that she has qualified as a Reiki practioner. I must confess that up until that moment I have never even heard anything about it. Maybe I'm stupid or just not in tune with the Universe or something. I am a confessed Christian, and my work is very stressful.
My sister claimed that she could help me cope with this stress and to become more balanced in my inner core - what that means I honestly don't know. She woke me early one morning and proposed to do some Reiki on me. I must also confess that I was really intrigued and because I love my sister, I did not want to disappoint her. God or the Holy Spirit woke me up during the previous night and I became very anxious about what my sister was dealing with. So, before we went on with the proceedings I asked her straight out who the god was, she was talking about. I know from books I have read that in the New Age movement god could be practically anyone from Mohammed up to Jesus Christ. I wanted to be certain, because I love Jesus above all others!
She could not look me in the eye. She then stated that God was the father of Jesus and that 'they' did not throw Him away. I was immensely relieved to hear this. Still, I could not bring myself to allow her to do any Reiki on me. I believe the word that Jesus gave me the previous night. 'I am the Way, the Truth and the Ressurection and nobody can go to the Father except through Me.' I gave her this verse. She says she know all of this. I can now only pray for my sister. I did not have all the answers, but since reading all of the above, I am more sure than ever, that Reiki is indeed not from the Father of Jesus, but of the one walking around like a raging lion seeking someone to devour. Please pray for my sister! She has been risen in a Christian home. She was babtized and she went on numerous church outings. She has always confessed that she loves Jesus and that she gave her life for Him.I cannot let her or her family perish. She has a husband and three wonderful children. How can you confess that Jesus is indeed your Saviour and deal with Satan? You cannot play in mud and stay clean.
...let him be accursed...
Hi Sparks,
As you state, the adversary is like a raging lion - nothing but the two-edged sword of the Word can be used against him:
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:8-9
So much for any one coming with anything BUT the plain and simple message of God. The word 'accursed' is the Greek 'anathema'. Thayer, a Greek scholar notes one of the meanings as :'...a man accursed, devoted to the direst of woes...' - sounds like the eternal absence of God, eternal hell.
The 'gospel' is Jesus Christ (For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2)
Christ is God (I and the Father are one. John 10:30)
God said:
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
1 Timothy 2:5 - compare with the so-called universal life force of reiki; ok granted, there is such a thing, but it is straight from the bowels of Hell.
There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
"A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them."
Leviticus 20:27
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:8-12
The conclusion of all is that reiki is NOT the gospel, it is NOT of God and has been declared - together with everything NOT OF HIM as anathema.
Remember, salvation is ONLY in Jesus Christ.
You did not indicate that you are in Christ, your obvious morally sound and morally based concern for your sister, her husband and children is great, but remember 'morality might keep you out of jail, but it will not keep you out of Hell', only Christ can, so flee to Him!
You, your sister and her family are in my prayers!

You really know very little about Reiki
There are certainly interesting posts on this thread. I must point out that all the people who use Jesus as an example of healing must just take note of one thing. In as much as people who do Reiki healing cannot heal instantly, neither can you. Show me where a christian raised someone from the dead except for Christ? I've seen loads of "faith healers" in churches do healings for people but it turns out to be just a mass form of hypnosis. Of course God still heals today. So you can't tell someone who practises Reiki that it is evil just because they cant heal someone instantly. Jesus himself healed a blind man only after two attemps (remember how He applied clay to the blind mans eyes?) By the way, read up on what Paul says about the "gifts" of healing. Not just one gift, but apparently many gifts when it comes to healing.
Another thing you should keep in mind is that Reiki has nothing to do with chakras. The original Reiki system comes from Japan and is based on Chinese philosophy about the body. Chakras and all the whistles and bells were added much later by New age followers. Reiki in its purest form has nothing to do with crystals, incense, candles, spirit guides etc. The so called "symbols" is nothing more than Japanese characters that were used to concentrate on. You can look it up in any Chinese/Japanse dictionary. There is nothing pagan about it. If Reiki was developed in Africa, you would have probably have Xhosa or Zulu words used. The attunements also has nothing to do with "transferring" energy. It symply unblocks energy pathways in the body so that the student can use Reiki more effectively. This is no hocus pocus. Its simply energy that responds to touch and intention.
Please be mindful before you judge and condemn something you really know very little about. You trust western medicine with all its chemicals and drugs to heal you when you are sick, but you forget that there are spiritual treatments that can also work and very effectively so. Just as the body responds to medication without needing any belief, the spirit also responds to healing irrespective of belief. You give way to much credit to Satan. Yes, he can and does copy Gods gifts, but I have NEVER seen him heal someone from any disease. If you have, please do share.
Reiki is therefore particularly "spiritual" healing
It is wonderful to have Reiki fundis responding so that we can come to the heart of this matter.
Remember: In the spirit world there are ONLY two (energy) sources, LIGHT (Jesus) or DARKNESS (Satan). External Healing to the Human spirit is either done in the Name and authority of Jesus (LIGHT) or in whatever deceptions Satan and His new age co-horts can cook up (DARKNESS). When a practitioner works in the spiritual dimension he/she is either applying spiritual power/forces/energy from the DARKNESS or from the LIGHT (In the Name and authority of Jesus).
Most of the results of Reiki as described in numerous testimonies here are SPIRITUAL damage to the patient. Thereafter the ONLY lasting remedy is spiritual deliverance in the name of Jesus (LIGHT) and only if the patient are aware of it.
The testimonies here show mostly that the touch of the Reiki practitioner is basically transfer of spirits. (Most of these Reiki practitioners are unaware of it versus sangomas who do it on purpose.) Depending on the level of spiritual authority of the Reiki practitioner or of the power of his/her demons, the pain is normally only transferred to another part of the body and the result is the healing of the initial pain but the price is another pain somewhere else after a while. But the REAL damage manifests only much later with the wrong spirits that now inhabit the patient with negative consequences not just now in the body but also relationships etc etc. These new inhabitants are normally not treated but are ignored.(Even by many Christians who expose themselves to "spirtual healing practices" like REIKI or healing by Sangomas etc).
Reiki training as testified here involves spiritual training, therefore all the spiritual new age terms, versus physiotherapy (Science at Universities) which is devoid of "spiritual" training and concentrate mostly on the body in a scientific medical way.
The point is that REIKI is particularly "spiritual" healing, BUT it is NOT done in the NAME OF JESUS.
REIKI
PieterN. I couldn't have word it better, myself. I fully agree. And for those that believe satan can't do "miracles or heal", You need to go and study the Word of God.
You really know very little about deception
My dear friend – they may know very little about Reiki – but you seem to know very little about how our Lord Jesus Christ operates and about the warnings in His word – And you obviously haven’t watched much GOD TV lately – do yourself a favour and tune in and see what real miracles look like.
From personal, first-hand experience and from the many testimonies of others it is obvious that the fruits of Reiki are rotten and the whole tree should be cut out and put in the fire:
Mat 7:17 Even so, every good tree gives good fruit; but the bad tree gives evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 It is not possible for a good tree to give bad fruit, and a bad tree will not give good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree which does not give good fruit is cut down and put in the fire.
Mat 7:20 So by their fruits you will get knowledge of them.
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will go into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the pleasure of my Father in heaven.
Mat 7:22 A great number will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, were we not prophets in your name, and did we not by your name send out evil spirits, and by your name do works of power?
Mat 7:23 And then will I say to them, I never had knowledge of you: go from me, you workers of evil.
You really know very little about Reiki....????
hi cedric,
I really don’t know why I respond to your post as it contains very little in the line of facts, but nevertheless I gave it a try in as far as scripture goes. you in some way proclaim to be an expert on both reiki and scripture but fail in both attempts, making any argument you might have had void for vagueness – or is that vague for voidness?
nevertheless, at the risk of totally alienating you from this forum I shall at once plunge into some salient points being covered in your post. kindly do not reply before not having read and meditated on the following:
reiki and healing
the 'healing' aspect of reiki should, as you correctly indicate, not be underrated. physical healing [and other 'wonders'] is something which can be brought about by those knowingly or un-knowingly doing the will of satan:
Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers. And they, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts. For each man threw down his rod, and they became snakes. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
Exodus 7:11-12 MKJV
Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers: and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did in like manner with their enchantments.
Exodus 7:11 ASV
And the magicians did so with their secret arts, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
Exodus 8:7 MKJV
As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling.
Acts 16:16 ESV
and said to him, "To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will.
Luke 4:6 ESV
Christ healing instantly
contrary to your post, Christ never ‘attempted’ to heal, it was always immediate and fully, he was not a conduit but the source! kindly provide authority for what you claim.
the healing of the blind man’s vision in mark 8:22 [as you did not refer to the location in scripture I have to assume you have never read it nor studied the implications thereof] and following is not the failure of Christ to heal at the first ‘attempt’ but an indication of the process of healing, at first Christ led the blind man out of the city, secondly He let the blind man see light, albeit dimly, and the third step was to restore vision completely – one could argue here that each step corresponds to the Christians pilgrimage, i.e. justification, sanctification and glorification – if you are not in Christ you will not be able to grasp this, pray to Him in order to open your eyes also!
other forces
no-one can negate that there are forces which are against Christ
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12 ASV,
in other words such powers not only exist but indeed manifest themselves through people, like the above magicians and others like:
judas,
And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him,
John 13:2 ASV
and legion
And Jesus asked him, saying: What is thy name? But he said: Legion. Because many devils were entered into him.
Luke 8:30 DRB
to name but two.
satan and healing
healing is not ascribed to the satan in scripture as healing in scripture is reserved for the domain of Christ’s activity – romans 8 will explain clearly that it is not about the flesh, i.e. body, but of the spirit, in other words physical healing is neither here nor there and by far not what scripture is about!
although satan is known to destroy, fake and temporary ‘healing’ is not excluded in scripture as part of his arsenal in furthering & achieving his goal, in order to substantiate we will have to look at passages where satan is being given a measure of control over man’s body:
And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life.
Job 2:6 ASV
ok, here we have such an example. satan can only go as far as God will allow him.
but what will prevent satan from providing a delusion in order for people to fall for his wiles within the framework of ‘he is in thy hand’? an answer is here:
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 ASV
and Christ himself elaborates:
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
Matthew 24:24 ASV
and
And it does great wonders, so that it makes fire come down from the heaven onto the earth in the sight of men.
Revelation 13:13 MKJV
it is late and I conclude.
reiki might be able to physically achieve a feeling of relieve - albeit temporary.
nor reiki nor anything else will be able to supplant Christ in order for eternal relieve – trusting in any thing but Christ will fail.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 ESV
i.e. dying without Christ is eternal death.
God bless

Reply to Cedric on: You really know very little about Reiki
We cannot heal at all, the Holy Spirit heals, we are merely vessels who lay hands on others.
David Hogan is one example of a man of Jesus Christ who’s laid hands on over 28 people already resurrected from the dead and if you research this further you’ll find many more, even our very own Angus Buchan raised someone from the dead. Jesus said that we’ll do greater miracles than He and He does not lie.
There are many fake “faith healers” as you put it, however Jesus makes it clear that people must have faith and sin no more. So it’s the people who take the healing back, not God.
Mark 8:22 says that Jesus put spit on the mans’ eyes, not clay. It is my interpretation that the man received a vision before Jesus restored his sight (we humans are often referred to as trees in the bible). Jesus is God. He created earth and everything in it with words, He is a star breathing God, He quiets storms, why on earth would it take Him two attempts to heal anyone?
I would like to know where you read about more than one gift of healing? I can’t seem to recall Scripture on more than one gift of healing. There is one Holy Spirit and He gives the gift of healing. There are many who get the gift, there are many different gifts, but only one gift of healing according to my knowledge.
With regard to Reiki Healing. I believe the person who posted the original message here did not portray the most important thing and that is LOVE but I understand that they were maybe a tad passionate. As their sister in Christ I apologize, however, I also practiced Reiki Healing before I got saved and unfortunately this type of healing does not carry God’s approval due to you taking credit for this healing. Things happen in our mind and spirit that may or may not have a positive effect when one does Reiki Healing. Unclean spirits may remove themselves from a body when “receiving healing” from healing like Reiki, which will trick / deceive people in believing in Reiki and not God.
When one does healing, one must always give Jesus the credit/glory and call on the Spirit of God to do this healing. Therefore Reiki or any other type of healing is unfortunately not from God and will be classified as a pagan ritual.
I hope this clears it up. Why don’t you ask Jesus to help you find the path which He approves of and start enjoying heaven on earth.
Ps. I was instantly healed from a serious blood disease by Jesus. So I know what works. Jesus does and FAITH IN HIM.
Jeremiah 17: 5-8
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Isaiah 53: 5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
THE ISSUE IS NOT REIKI BUT SIN
Ok, let’s forget about reiki for a moment. Because the issue here is not really reiki but reiki is part of it.
Let’s try and define sin. Not possible without something to measure it against, i.e. a standard of ‘non-sin’.
Where do we find a standard of ‘non-sin’ - only in the Word of God, the term used for that which is absolutely devoid of sin, i.e. pure and perfect and totally ‘apart’ from sin is holy.
The triune God is holy - triune being the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (don’t try to figure this out, just believe it! There are more things we can’t wrap our brains around (eternity, black holes etc) than things we can understand, this is one of them - the ultimate one).
If you look for outside sources regarding the sinless nature of Christ and don’t believe the Bible, go to the Quran (I mean now that you have preferred to ignore the ‘Source Code’ of more than 2 billion ‘Christians’, let’s go to the writings of the 1,6 billion ‘Muslims’) where it is stated in Surah 19:19
“I am only a messenger of your Lord, to announce to you a faultless son”, being what the ‘angel’ Gabriel told Mary prior to her virgin conception and birth of Christ - facts from Scripture reinforced by the Muslims but ignored by the Jews.
The words used in Arabic to describe Christ are ghulaaman-zakiyyan, “a most-holy boy.” The word zakiyya, meaning “blameless,” appears only twice in the Quran.
Once man was without sin, prior to ignoring God’s order NOT to eat the forbidden fruit. The penalty for that transgression was death, not only because no sin can share the presence of a holy God, but also because He said so :
“but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:17
and for those focussed on the New Testament:
“For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
In other words, as long as we are in sin, even the least tiny bit, we shall surely die - see above.
Now the quoted verse from Romans tells us much more than just what the results of sin are, it states that the FREE gift from God is eternal life (remember He is life) IN CHRIST JESUS! (FREE means you can’t work in order to get it, no amounts of ‘hail maries’, good deeds, transcendental meditation, ‘righteous’ deeds, fasting, pilgrimages, alms-giving - you can’t get it, God gives freely in Christ, no other way!).
We can see from this and many others verses that outside of Christ there is NO eternal life, only eternal death, called Hell. Now that is for a person who really looks into Scripture - an incidental reader and non-believer if not saved by Christ, will have to find out about the reality of Hell in her/his own good time.
Ok, sin is all but holiness. The only way I can get eternal life is through Christ, this means I can eternally be with God the Father, Christ and the Holy Ghost - ONLY IN CHRIST.
Now many readers will object being a sinner - I mean I haven’t been too bad, my life is in order, I give to charity, I treat my kids lovingly, I don’t kick my dog (unnecessarily ...;-) etc...
It is necessary to go into this.
Fine, let’s just get the ‘I’m no sinner’ delusion sorted:
We saw God and Christ are holy, i.e. without sin, they are also One by virtue of the Triune-Godhead (just because people like the Jehovah’s witnesses deny Christ’s equality with the Father doesn’t mean a thing - their string of unfulfilled ‘doomsday’ prophecies actually contributes in undermining whatever credibility they might have had).
But let’s get back to sin and you and me.
God gave the Ten Commandments and they should be taken in the same light as the one instruction he gave Adam and Eve NOT to eat from the tree and you will remember the promise of death re this seemingly ‘small’ act of disobedience...
Exodus 20:2-20:17
2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; 3you shall have no other gods before me.
>>>other gods means anything, people, material objects, money, tarot cards, universal life force, Buddha, Allah etc
4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
>>>i.e. a relic, a portrait or sculpture of angels, the mother Mary, an amulet, a shrine, an icon...
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them;
>>>like close your eyes, saying a little prayer to or in front of the object, rosary beads?, making a symbolic cross in front of them with your hands etc
for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,
>>>God is jealous, God WILL punish
6 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.
>>>God WILL love
7 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
>>>you may not use the name of God as a flippant expression of anger or amazement etc - only when addressing Him! Again He WILL not acquit!
8 Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy.
9 For six days you shall labour and do all your work.
10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns.
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and consecrated it.
>>>What do you do on the Sabbath?
12 Honour your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
>>>Have you always and in all things done that? God does not say honour them only if they look after you...
13 You shall not murder.
>>>Ever wished someone dead and gone?
14 You shall not commit adultery.
>>>Ever even thought of having an affair or sex with someone else outside your marriage if you are married. Ever dressed sexy in order to elicit these thoughts in someone else?
15 You shall not steal.
>>>Ever even thought of taking something not belonging to you? Ever withheld tax money? Ever done someone in, even with a cent?
16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
>>>Ever lied? Even the tiniest white lie?
17 You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.
>>>Need I go into this one?
Right, what we see here is that we have transgressed most if not all of the above, and God says
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is become guilty of all. James 2:10
So much for trying to reason your way out of one or two of the above...
Apart from being able to reason that we are sinners by being descendants of Adam, we see from the above that we are sinners because we are not able to keep Gods commands.
Another proof of the fact that we are sinners is physical death - in other words the death sentence passed way back on Adam, at least in the physical sense, is still with us.
As we saw “the wages of sin is death”. Now one person, being fully a man and also fully God, Jesus Christ, came and took upon Him the sin of ALL HUMAN BEINGS WHO EVER LIVED AND WILL LIVE ON THIS EARTH!
Christ had to take this sin upon him in order to take it from us so that we might be declared righteous and are accepted in the presence of God.
An exchange took place, Christ died for them that accept Him.
He died the most excruciating death humanly possible (for those interested in this facet let me know, I have done some research on it).
Not only was His the most agonizing death imaginable in a physical sense, He also had to endure an eternity’s ‘demise’ of Hell - the full treatment; He had to drink the full cup of the wrath of a holy God, down to the dregs!
Why God Himself? Would anyone else be able to endure Hell and get out of it victoriously but God?
Not only that, but God will not that anybody usurp His position, victory belongs to the Lord (Proverbs 21:31).
So the long and the short is, Christ came and died for all sinners of all times though only those found to be in Him, those who by belief in Him and living through Him and dying to sin with Him will live with Him in all eternity!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
So where on earth does reiki fit into this picture?
For this let’s go to the Bible, being the ultimate truth our one words only mess up the argument.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:8-9
So much for anyone coming with anything BUT the plain and simple message of God. The word 'accursed' is the Greek 'anathema'. Thayer, a Greek scholar notes one of the meanings as:'...a man accursed, devoted to the direst of woes...' - sounds like the eternal absence of God, eternal hell.
The 'gospel' is Jesus Christ (For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2)
Christ is God (I and the Father are one. John 10:30)
God said:
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 -
compare with the so-called universal life force of reiki; ok granted, there is such a thing (I believe that Satan exists!), but it is straight from the bowels of Hell.
The conclusion of all is that reiki is NOT the gospel; it is NOT of God and has been declared - together with everything NOT OF HIM as anathema.
So you don’t practice reiki but still want to tolerate it, then here is something for you from the Word of God:
Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. Romans 1:32
There is absolutely no middle way, no plan ‘B’ - any other way but Christ
goes straight to Hell, this includes reiki!
Respect
What some of the fanatical Christians on here need to realize, is that the Bible is not all truth, its just a slice of it. There are a whole lot of other things out there that are also true but not in the bible (think about it, with your own brain, for a second). I agree, Reiki could possibly be spiritually dangerous, but hitting people over the head with the bible repeatedly is not the best approach eh? Show a little love, and reason, and people are more inclined to listen. No one likes to listen to fanatical rantings of a crazy person. The Reiki advocates on here are, for the most part, respectful and calm - the Christians though, hmm. Peace, David
