National day of repentace for ABORTION in SA - 900 000 babies already murdered

1 Feb 2010

National Day of repentace for AbortionEvery year we lose more pre-born babies to abortion than the combined death toll of crime and car accidents. Since 1 February 1997, over 900 000 babies have been killed in South Africa - by abortion - with tax payers money.>> Read More ... >>>

Legalised abortion is a national disgrace. The 1st of February 2010 will mark the 13th anniversary of the legalisation of abortion on demand in South Africa. For this reason, Christians who respect the Sanctity of Life will be observing 1 February as a day of prayer and repentance for the national sin of abortion. Pastors throughout the country will be preaching on the Sanctity of Human Life on Sanctity Life Sunday (31 January), and congregations in every province will be joining in prayers of repentance.

Now THAT's a Community Church

Now THAT is a Community ChurchExtract: "If we become a church of brick and mortar, we may cease to be a church of flesh and blood.”

Our motive should not be to fill these seats, but to empty these seats,” Mercer has often stated to a profoundly unified and supportive congregation. But he admits it has taken a transformational journey to embrace a mindset that would rather see local families with roofs over their heads and food on the table rather than the church having a better sound system.

I think it is important to look at the following story, not as a model, but as an encouragement towards obedience from a community of God's people. We are watching God do many things through His people and there is a divine shift going on that will impact all systems and methods.

Marketplace - The New Venue for Kingdom Expansion

Business = Kingdom ExpansionLove is the greatest mystery in the world. There is no other force or power in the world as great as love. Love will cause us to give up our very lives. Only after love motivates us to die to our self-focused life, can we know resurrection life. Just as Jesus gave up His life for others and was resurrected to a far greater life, we will experience a far greater life now on earth as love motivates us to selflessly serve. The Babylonian-style world cannot comprehend the value of the love of God. It is a mystery to the people of Babylon.

The love of God will cause us to lay down our lives for our brothers. We will seek to provide for our brothers' needs. Jesus' love coming forth in us will cause us to serve one another. We become humble servants and not proud rulers. We keep His commandments to love God and love one another.

The desire to serve stemming from love is the foundation of kingdom enterprise. We serve Jesus as we serve mankind by providing for peoples' needs. >> Read More ... >>>

Motivation to keep serving in Africa

Motivation to keep serving in AfricaExtract from this article by Heidi and Rolland Baker from Mozambique: But, ha, there is a secret place, a hiding place, a lower place, a holy place that exceeds our dreams. It is not found in anything external and impersonal. It is not found simply in activity, sacrifice and dedication. It is not found in goals, projects, productions and progress. It is not found in finances and growth. It may be missed entirely even when preaching, teaching, training and discipling. It may be forgotten completely when evangelizing and praying for the sick. The greatest and most powerful gifts don't necessarily contain it. Even ministry to the poor may become an impersonal effort that misses that greatest and most intensely motivating creation of God, that supreme display of His glory: relationship!>> Read More ... >>>

Are we worse off than Sodom and Gomorrah?

NOT caring for Poor and Orphans!

Someone made the remark that Christians in SA today, are worse off than Lot’s family in Sodom and Gomorrah:

In general, Sodom’s sin is perceived to have been sexual immorality like gay’s etc., but the Scripture is clear in Ezek 16:49 that Sodom’s sin was that they did not care for the poor, (the orphans, widows and strangers (refugees)). By neglecting that care, they created a selfish culture that resulted in fruits, like sexual immorality.

One definition of poverty is: Poverty is the proof of resources maladministrated. (South Africa is the country with the second largest gap between poor and rich in the world! )

Let us address the root of the problem and be better off. Practical steps can be taken by you as a family or by your cell group to take care of an orphan.

The steps below are so easy and a good place to start.>> Read More ... >>>

CINDI Workshop on Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting on Programmes for Orphans and Vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS

12 Mar 2007 08:00
14 Mar 2007 17:00

Theme - Meeting the challenges of monitoring, evaluating and reporting on programmes for orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS. Currently there are a number of issues emerging around the need for sound monitoring, evaluation and reporting (MER) on programmes and projects for orphans and vulnerable children affected by AIDS.

Key issues include:
Many funders are adopting increasingly elaborate MER requirements for projects they support; Smaller organisations are commonly unable to secure funding because of their lack of organisational capacity to meet MER requirements; “Scaling up” calls for greater support for community based initiatives to increase the spread of available assistance to orphans and vulnerable children affected by AIDS at community level; Fraud and corruption and failure to implement projects in accordance with project proposals seriously undermine the effectiveness of the response to orphans and vulnerable children affected by AIDS and Experience gained in the CINDI Network for MER suggests that building capacity requires time and on going committed support which smaller organisations do not have access to.

SONSHIP - THE PATH TO FATHERHOOD

WHAT : THERE IS A LACK OF GENUINE FATHERHOOD

OUR CONCEPT OF GOD IS IMPACTED, INFLUENCED (SHAPED) BY OUR VIEW OF FATHERHOOD - NOT A FATHER

THE FATHER
WHEN GOD DECIDED TO REVEAL HIMSELF, HE SENT HIS SON

HE DID NOT SEND A FATHER, BUT A SON
