I want to put a challenge before you – are you ready? Okay, here we go! Pull out your Strong’s Concordance and look up the term ‘full time ministry’. I’m willing to award a prize to the one who finds the most references. As a matter of fact, I’ll gladly give an expensive gift to anyone who can produce one instance where that exact terminology is used anywhere in the original languages!
Let me save you some time. There is not one person in the entire Bible that is referred to as being in full time ministry! Isn’t it amazing how frequently we hear the phrase ‘full-time ministry’ and it’s not even found once in the Word of God? Perhaps we need to ask the Lord for a more Biblical paradigm. . . . One of the greatest revelations I have learned in recent years is that whatever I do in life, IS MINISTRY.
Every job and every assignment, my family, and every path that the Holy Spirit leads me, IS MINISTRY.
Colossians 3:23-24
23Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart. Do it for the Lord and not for men.
24Remember that you will get your reward from the Lord. He will give you what you should receive. You are working for the Lord Christ.
Everything We Do Serves the King and His Kingdom!

As soccer is not part of normal church life, this is a relevant question.
There are however some other Kingdom pointers as stated below:
Every Christian needs to ask some of these questions:
- Are we ready to seize this opportunity, and to e.g. put a life coach in the lives of our orphans via soccer coaching. (We know how the Lord feels about fathering His orphans)
- Can we not use this opportunity and reach out to our own youth, those in the neighbourhood and even the visitors during the extra long holidays?
TUG which stands for the The Ultimate Goal aims to join hands and equip each congregation and Christian to DO something during this world cup time:
What an opportunity we have to work together!

For the church to obey the Cultural Commission of influencing every realm of culture as salt and light (Genesis 1:28 and Matthew 5:13-16) it is essential that believers learn how to think biblically and articulate biblical principles in the language of contemporary hearers.
All the biblical covenants point to believers taking the lead in secular society and redeeming cultures for the kingdom and glory of God. . . . Read More ... >>>

I have discovered that, as we seek the Lord, our most difficult periods can be transformed into wonderful breakthroughs into God's love. For me, one such season occurred during the years 1979 to 1981. The association of churches with which I was aligned had fallen under spiritual deception. Not only were its core doctrines increasingly seeded with New Age influences, but immorality crept in, and key leaders began leaving their wives for other women. I could no longer remain silent. As a result, in 1979 I left my congregation in Detroit, Michigan, where I had served as pastor, and traveled to the organization's regional headquarters in Iowa. I came to plead for repentance. However, after meeting with the senior leaders, I was asked to leave the group.
So here we were—we had left our church, we had no money, and we had four little children and couldn't afford even basic housing. . . . Read More ... >>>

Extract:God never allows for situational ethics. There are absolutes in the Kingdom of God. The Word of God does not change because of culture or accepted practice.
It was an "industry practice" to sell doves in the temple. But Jesus never accepted the practice because he knew it was turning a holy place of prayer into a commercial enterprise. It did not matter that it was an accepted practice.
God calls each of us to operate from a plumb line of righteousness in our work life, no matter the consequence. . . . Read More ... >>>

As followers of Christ, our continual call is upward. The directive "come up here" in Revelation 4 is the recurrent appeal of heaven. The direction of God's intent for our lives is always above what we have known and where we have trod. Yet the "upward" direction, the "above" life may not be "up" in any physical sense. "Up" in the realm of the Spirit may well be "in" or it may merely be an awareness, a discernment of something unseen yet authentic. A dictionary description of the word "up" yields in part, "with greater intensity, in or into a better or more advanced state; into evidence, prominence, or prevalence, and into operation or practical form; into possession or custody." Could it be that the current generation of followers of Christ is experiencing a revealing from heaven of something "coming into evidence, prominence or prevalence?" Something, which is coming into operation in a "practical form?" Something the Bible describes as the kingdom of God? . . . Read More ... >>>

This story started many years ago in a Baptist church in Bournemouth, England. One night the pastor, Dr. Francis Dixon asked a man named Peter to share his testimony.
Peter got up and said, "This is how I was saved. I was in the Royal Navy. I was walking down George Street in Sydney, Australia and out of nowhere stepped a gentleman and he said to me, 'excuse me, sir, but could I ask you a question? I hope that it won't offend you, but if you were to die today, where would you spend eternity? The Bible says that it will either be in heaven or in hell. Would you think about that, please? Thank you. God bless you!" Then the man left. I had never been confronted with that question - I couldn't get it out of my mind. I got back to England and met someone who took me to a mission and that's where I became a Christian". . . . Read More ... >>>
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love" (I Jn. 4:18, ESV).
Most of our fears are a consequence of not knowing God well enough. Fear comes from uncertainty. If we are confident, secure, and certain about who we are in Christ, and who Christ is in us, then we won't be worried about what the devil might do, and we won't be worried about what other people might do.
Now folks, that's a lot off your plate. Imagine what a relief it would be to just live your life in friendship with God, unaffected by worries and fears about the devil, unmoved by worries and fears about other people - what they might think, what they might say, what they might do.

Love is the greatest mystery in the world. There
is no other force or power in the world as great as love. Love will
cause us to give up our very lives. Only after love motivates us to die
to our self-focused life, can we know resurrection life. Just as Jesus
gave up His life for others and was resurrected to a far greater life,
we will experience a far greater life now on earth as love motivates us
to selflessly serve. The Babylonian-style world cannot comprehend the
value of the love of God. It is a mystery to the people of Babylon.
The love of God will cause us to lay down our lives for our brothers. We will seek to provide for our brothers' needs. Jesus' love coming forth in us will cause us to serve one another. We become humble servants and not proud rulers. We keep His commandments to love God and love one another.
The desire to serve stemming from love is the foundation of kingdom enterprise. We
serve Jesus as we serve mankind by providing for peoples' needs. . . . Read More ... >>>

 Too
many Christians and Christian leaders spend their energy, creativity
and precious time promoting churches instead of the kingdom. They work
for the success of their church or perhaps for a group of churches in
their city, or they work for their ministry or denomination.
They
believe that by building churches and ministries they are building the
kingdom. They think church and kingdom are practically synonymous. This
isolation of the church from the world has led to ineffectiveness and
failure to carry out the Great Commission.
The
church is not the kingdom. Jesus said: "Nor will people say, 'See
here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you"
(Luke 17:21, NKJV). It's not confined to temples and churches. No
church can contain or control the kingdom of God. The kingdom is meant
to inhabit the entire earth, not just your church sanctuary. . . . Read More ... >>>
