Leading, As One Who Serves

Leading, As One Who ServesLuke 22:24-29 24Also a dispute arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. 25Jesus said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.>> Read More ... >>>

Yesterday, I spent the day alone doing things that are far richer shared with someone very special, but that was not to be. It was the first Valentine’s Day I have ever spent without those simple wordsY, “I love you” being spoken in my ear by someone who did. While I am confident that day, I spent the day alone doing things that are far richer shared with someone very special, but that was not to be. It was the first Valentine’s Day I better days lay ahead, yesterday was not one of them. But I learned something…

Your True Colors

Your True Colors“You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.” (James 1:3, The Message)

During a pregame talk with a team, some years ago I asked the question, “What do you get when you squeeze a lemon?” Of course the standard answer fired back from coaches and players alike, “Lemon juice!”

But what nobody knew that morning was that I had filled the lemon with ketchup (tomato sause ). When I squeezed it tight and the red liquid oozed over my hand, they were all taken back.

“You’re wrong,” I then said. “The actual answer is that you get whatever is inside it.”

At that point I had them right where I wanted them, and then asked, “So, what’s inside you? What are we going to see when pressure puts the squeeze on you?” The answer is the same to the lemon question; we will see whatever is in you.>> Read More ... >>>

"Ja, so sien ek. Wat bou jy?" Ek gee nou nie juis om wat sy bou nie..... "Aag ek weet nie, ek voel maar net lus om in die sand te speel." Die idee trek my nogal aan, en ek trek my skoene uit. 'n Strandlopertjie sweef verby. "Dis 'n vreugde", sê sy. "Dis 'n wat?" “'n Vreugde.” Mamma sê dat 'n strandlopertjie vir 'n mens vreugde bring." Die strandlopertjie verdwyn oor die duin. "Koebaai vreugde", mompel ek vir myself, "Hallo pyn!" Ek draai om, om te loop. Depressie het aan my geknaag - my lewe was 'n gemors. >> Read More ... >>>

"Love Me Where You're At"

Love me Where you areby Francis Frangipane www.frangipane.org

I have discovered that, as we seek the Lord, our most difficult periods can be transformed into wonderful breakthroughs into God's love. For me, one such season occurred during the years 1979 to 1981. The association of churches with which I was aligned had fallen under spiritual deception. Not only were its core doctrines increasingly seeded with New Age influences, but immorality crept in, and key leaders began leaving their wives for other women. I could no longer remain silent. As a result, in 1979 I left my congregation in Detroit, Michigan, where I had served as pastor, and traveled to the organization's regional headquarters in Iowa. I came to plead for repentance. However, after meeting with the senior leaders, I was asked to leave the group.

VISION: What could happen INSIDE your UNSAVED FAMILY MEMEBER ON DEATH bedby Francis Frangipane www.frangipane.org >> Read More ... >>>

A few years ago, I had a dream in which I found myself inside the mind of a dying man. The man had been in a coma for some time; his family had been praying, but they did not know whether or not he had accepted Christ. All they were sure of is that, throughout his life, he had resisted their efforts to lead him to Christ.

In the dream, I became so acutely aware of the man's state of mind that his thoughts, feelings and struggles almost seemed my own. Although his eyes were nearly closed and his vision clouded, he could see his loved ones at his bedside. I watched as he tried to reach toward his family, but outwardly his arm never lifted. Perceiving his thoughts, I heard him speak

Yawning Our Way to Our Journey's End?

Yawning Our Way to Our Journey's End?"If you knew that I was after the best, then why did you do less than the least?" (Matthew 25:26, The Message).

Sooner or later we each will have to face the moment of truth -- when our lives are measured in the light of eternity. There is an abiding reality within the depths of our souls that stirs us to pursue that which is good and true, that which is virtuous and noble. By divine instinct we shun death, disease, and destruction -- for we were not made for these things.

And though this fallen world is marred with the ever-encroaching presence of evil, our hearts are up-linked to more heavenly pursuits. We were not made for failure, but success. We were not designed to malfunction, but to excel. We are not at ease settling for that which we know is less than our best. But, then, why do so many seem so ready to surrender to mediocrity?>> Read More ... >>>

Unsettled, Resettled, Then Mettle!

Building Character for Kingdom LivingThe pathway toward the Kingdom of God is interesting, isn't it? We think we have made it to the summit only to see another pinnacle to climb. When we think we can relax, plant roots, and get comfortable, all of a sudden - a mighty wind blows, once solid foundations begin to crumble, and we stand there bewildered, asking God, "WHAT NOW?"

Please let me share a bit of our story with you…>> Read More ... >>>

Success Is Not a Random Act of God

Sucess is simply a series of right decisionsContrary to popular belief, success is not a product of chance. It is not the result of random selection or of a pre-determined function of fate. Success is written into the spiritual DNA by God for all mankind, no matter who they are, what financial or social environment they were born into, or what an individual may believe about himself. God has hardwired us to be successful. Failure does not exist in the plan of our Lord. Just as there is no failure in the hopes and dreams of parents toward their children, >> Read More ... >>>

Now THAT's a Community Church

Now THAT is a Community ChurchExtract: "If we become a church of brick and mortar, we may cease to be a church of flesh and blood.”

Our motive should not be to fill these seats, but to empty these seats,” Mercer has often stated to a profoundly unified and supportive congregation. But he admits it has taken a transformational journey to embrace a mindset that would rather see local families with roofs over their heads and food on the table rather than the church having a better sound system.

I think it is important to look at the following story, not as a model, but as an encouragement towards obedience from a community of God's people. We are watching God do many things through His people and there is a divine shift going on that will impact all systems and methods.

"Recovering YOU from the Enemy!"

The only thing that was ever "stolen" from you was YOU.The only thing that was ever "stolen" from you was YOU. The enemy never took a thing from you. He didn't take your family. He didn't take your car. He didn't steal your job. If you never knew YOU "you never owned a thing." And if you never truly knew God, "you never truly knew YOU!"

Any material that is given to a "unknown or unidentified identity" is a loss waiting to happen. This biggest challenge of the soul is to rightly identify ones self. Many live in this generation "unknown, unborn, unfulfilled, and unrealized!" Whenever there is an existence without the knowledge of God and His Kingdom, "you have not yet arrived!">> Read More ... >>>

The Kingdom will create an Awakening that will compel the heart to seek for God, which therefore will seek for itself also. Finding God "will also find YOU!" Jesus is the Way to God "which is also the way to YOU!" When you discover YOU, and recover YOU, then YOU will finally be able to worship the Lord. The greatest form of worship is not mere singing or the raising of the hands. The greatest form of worship "is imitation!" When you discover who YOU are,

Growing Together "As One"

Growing Together "As One""And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13)

I want to talk on unity here. This scripture says "Till we all come in the unity of the faith". If we're ever going to truly advance the kingdom of God, if we're ever going to transform our communities, cities and nations for Christ, we're going to have to grow up together "as one" Body of Christ.

It is not enough for some of us to come into relationship and further revelation in Jesus and not be concerned with the needed contribution of our brothers and sisters in the Lord. It has never and will never work that way. We're a part of each other. The Bible calls us to be one body...the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ.>> Read More ... >>>

Defense Mechanisms: Why & How We Block Intimacy

Blocking Intamicy!

Hello beloved,
Intimacy can be incredibly elusive! Though we all desire and need it, oftentimes we ourselves are the very reason it escapes us. May the Lord illumine our eyes to see and move beyond our defense mechanisms into fulfilling, lifelong intimacy with our loved ones.>> Read More ... >>>

Authentic Connection- What is intimacy?

Intimacy is the meaningful and fulfilling connection between two or more authentic selves. Vulnerability and trust are assumed, since the authentic self is essentially and perpetually vulnerable, needing assurance of safety for expression. Intimacy is when the real Me meets the real You

Why God Doesn't Care if You're Happy

It is evident there are many people in the Body of Christ who attempt to integrate their Christian faith with the pursuit of happiness. Some have even gone so far as to have a theology of happiness in which they obey or disobey Scripture based on what gives them the most happiness.Several years ago a prominent pastor in New York City divorced his wife and married someone else in his church because, he said, "God wants me happy!">> Read More ... >>>

In examining this subject I believe the reason for this belief is most likely a confusion of the concepts of joy and happiness. Joy is an inward sense of peace, contentment, and even ecstasy due to our righteous standing in Christ and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. This state of joy should be present in all believers in spite of the circumstances or challenges one might be facing. Joy is a supernatural experience that cannot be explained outside of a supernatural act of God. As the song writer said, "The world didn't give us joy so the world can't take it away!"

Qualified to Serve

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, 'Lord, do you wash my feet?' Jesus answered him, 'What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.' Peter said to him, 'You shall never wash my feet.' Jesus answered him, 'If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.' Simon Peter said to him, 'Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!' Jesus said to him, 'The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet. But is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.' John 13:6-10 >> Read More ... >>>

It was not unusual for Peter to over react. We are glad, because we can all identify with him and learn from what Jesus said to him. Remember that this is the occasion of Jesus giving his last instructions to the disciples before his death. He is giving them a picture of what service in the kingdom of God looks like by washing their feet.

The Seasons of Life

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" (Isa 40:31).

It is notable that Isaiah puts the imagery of this verse in this particular, specific order -- wait, fly, run walk. Logically we would prefer that it say "wait, walk, run, and fly!" With the implication being that once we take flight, we never come back down.>> Read More ... >>>

Prayers Like Incense

PrayersLet my prayer be set before You as incense,

The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. - Psalm 141:2

Have you ever wondered about the scriptural tie between incense and prayer? Many of us weren't raised in cultures that use incense on a regular basis, and in fact, for some of us, the only reference point we have for the word might be the thin, rectangular packages we could buy at the local food co-op. When God says that our prayers "rise before Him like incense," many of us have no idea what that actually means.>> Read More ... >>>
