The Power of Love

The power of Love

Recently, as many of you know, my laptop was destroyed - run over by a semi. People have been curious about how it happened, but the question in my head wasn't how, but why? Why did it happen? The Lord warned me months before that there was going to be an attack against my laptop. I know, it sounds odd, but that is the truth. So, I was very careful to backup and copy everything of any importance.>> Read More ... >>>

However, the question "why" still harassed me for weeks after it happened and heavy sadness settled on me. I sought the Lord about it

Evaluating Your Associations

If you were to evaluate the major influences in your life that have shaped the kind of person you are, this has to be high on the list: the people and thoughts you choose to allow into your life. My mentor Mr. Shoaff gave me a very important warning in those early days that I would like to share with you.>> Read More ... >>>

Rejoicing in the Midst of All Things

Rejoicing in the Midst of All ThingsRejoicing Always

Living in Christ makes us vulnerable to laughter. Laughter is more than a choice; it’s a requirement for us that we be happy. God’s highest plan for our lives includes a desire for us to find, live in, and love the joy that is in Christ. God is good news! His love and presence is an absolute tonic for us.

The 21 Laws of Relationship

by Junior deSouza www.juniordesouza.com >> Read More ... >>>

The 21 Laws of RelationshipIn society, if we break certain laws we go to prison. In relationships also, if we break certain laws we end up in a prison--a prison of loneliness, isolation, and frustration. I call this Relationship Prison. I've been incarcerated there too many times! Weren't you my cellmate?
Most of the time we go on our own. We do not understand concrete laws that govern relationships, and therefore, we break them unknowingly and repeatedly--landing us in prison time and time again. We don't have to go or stay in Relationship Prison!
Happy relationships follow laws, unhappy ones are, more or less, lawless. God strengthen us.

How Human Society Advanced

by Gerald Chester www.strategieswork.com

How Human Society AdvancedThe first man on earth was a farmer. His name was Adam. Adam and his heirs were created to rule God's physical universe (Genesis 1:26–28). This work started in a garden.>> Read More ... >>>

Adam's specific assignment was to “work the ground” (Genesis 2:5 NIV). The Hebrew word used in this text is abad, which is also translated in other texts worship and serve. From the beginning, therefore, the idea of work was rooted in the mandate to rule God's creation and was a vehicle to serve and worship God. This is known by many as the "Creation Mandate" and gives work dignity, purpose, and significance.

The Four Stages of a Religious Spirit

The Four Stages of a Religious SpiritMatthew strategically wrote his gospel account to show how the Jewish leaders rejected Jesus as their Messiah. Their debates with our Lord increased until it reached a climax in the Twelfth Chapter. This was the turning point. In the first eleven chapters, Jesus spoke openly about the Kingdom of God being offered to national Israel. After chapter twelve, however, He only spoke in dark parables. Explaining Himself to His disciples, He quoted the prophesy of Isaiah,>> Read More ... >>>

Our orphans could dream again, on their special camp before Christmas

OVC Camp 1-4 December 2008I have a dream...  Do you have a dream?  What a privilege it is to have this question and this challenge put to you when you are 6 or 10 or 15 years old.  It is a question that makes the mind create vision and hope for the future.  On our annual Orphans and Vulnerable Children's Camp we presented this peep into their own futures to 58 children aged between 6 and 15.  A brave policeman stood up inside the body of a 7-year old.  A doctor who makes a difference began to grow in the mind of a 12-year old.>> Read More ... >>>

Boasting in our Weakness

by Watchman Nee

''He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in your weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather boast in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may tabernacle over me.'' II Corinthians 12:9

It is one thing to say that we cannot make it, and it is another thing to give up trying to make it altogether. Can we see that these are two things? The first condition to victory is to realize that we cannot make it, and the second is to give up trying to make it. If we will admit that we cannot make it and give up trying to make it, we will overcome.

The Missing Ingredient

Missing LOVEby Chip Brogden www.theschoolofchrist.org

"And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved" (II Corinthians 12:15).

Besides prayer, no other subject has been talked about more and practiced less than the subject of loving one another. We all know we are supposed to love one another. We have heard it preached a thousand times. But there is a difference between knowing the Path and walking the Path.

I want to speak specifically to the issue of love as it relates to "ministry". That word "ministry" is a loaded word now, and we really need to question someone when they use that word so we can find out what they really mean. I think most people will agree that what passes for "ministry" these days is something very far removed from the ministry practiced in the New Testament. And I am not referring to some kind of method or technique that they practiced. The "missing ingredient" is not something so superficial as meeting in homes versus meeting in buildings. How far we have fallen to think that the secret of New Testament life is found in some way of conducting a meeting. >> Read More ... >>>

Elijah, Jehu, and the War Against Jezebel

As we considered how many political and religious leaders have fallen to immorality, as well as so many others, it seemed right to us that a fresh reminder of this enemy's deception be added to our discernment.
This message is adapted from Francis Frangipane's recently revised book, The Three Battlegrounds.

Confront and Support

Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company" (Acts 15:37-39).

Conflict in the workplace, in ministry, or even marriage is inevitable because you are working closely with one another. God has wired each of us with different personalities that can view circumstances differently. One person can see a situation and conclude something totally different from another.

I can of mine own self, do nothing!

Divine purpose
Divine purpose is using ordinary people who recognize they are ordinary and will not seek to be extraordinary. Man fails by aiming to be what he's not. He can only be effective in his function. And he will discover his function by the unction on his function.

In other words, the will of God works. But the will of God is meant to work perfectly with ordinary people who realize they are ordinary and, as such, will not move out of order.

All our troubles come in exalting ourselves. We trespass out of our function and aim to be what we could never be, because God never meant us to have any function outside of what He gives us. Selah! >> Read More ... >>>

THE TWO-FOLD WORK OF THE CROSS

If there is any doubt as to the reason for a lack of power, a lack of joy, a lack of faithfulness, a lack of Spirit-and-Truth today, we need only examine a person's ultimate attitude towards the Cross. Is the Cross, to them, something that Jesus saved them FROM, or something that Jesus saved them FOR? The fruit, or the lack thereof, tells the whole story. For there never will be, and there never can be, any fruitfulness apart from embracing the two-fold work of the Cross.
