Over the past 10 years, the Parachute Band has recorded 6 albums of worship songs from churches throughout New Zealand. Written by a number of different songwriters, these songs have spread from New Zealand’s shores in the South Pacific, right across the world. Their songs include: “Lord of the Heavens”, “Amazing” and “All the Earth”.

The band, consisting of 4 members, now tours internationally for 4 months each year, covering a large territory with their brand of worship music - soft rock and groove with a congregational accessibility and tight musical arrangements. They have released 6 albums of New Zealand written worship material which have all reached gold status in New Zealand. In 2005 they released their 7th album ALL THE EARTH, which was recorded live at Parachute Music Festival.

In 2006 the Gospel Music Association USA awarded the Parachute Band the International Award, for a performer or organisation from outside of the US that has made an impact not just in their own country, but in the world at large. The band’s credible worship has also been recognised by the New Zealand Music Awards, at which they have won three awards for Best Gospel Album.

New Zealand’s finest: helping people world wide experience the presence of God!

Internet Evangelism Day

29 Apr 2007 00:00
29 Apr 2007 23:00

A resource for churches, Bible Colleges, groups and individuals because …

... over 1 billion people use the Web
... the Internet is changing the world
... God is using the Web to transform lives
... “We’d love to use the Web for outreach, but we don’t know how”

Internet Evangelism Day is here to tell you about …

  • what God is doing on the Web
  • outreach strategies that work online
  • how you, your church or Christian group can use the Web for outreach – and how to make effective church websites reach into the community
  • planning an Internet Evangelism focus day for your church, Bible college or Christian group
calendar graphic for Internet Evangelism Day The date for your calendar: 29 April 2007

In other words, this site works at two levels. It demonstrates that the coming years are the ‘day’ of digital outreach. And it provides free downloads to enable you to create your own web evangelism awareness slot for your church or Christian group, on 29 April 2007, or any day you choose.

How we can help you: learn more.

… in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people … Isaiah 49:8

2013 Global day of prayer

19 May 2013

Global day of PrayerPray with one Voice.

19 May 2013

"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together In one place"
Acts 2:1

The single thing that we request every observance to do is to pray the prayer called, "A Prayer For The World" (PFTW), during the event / gathering, no matter how large or small.

This is your opportunity to unify in prayer with Christians from across the globe.

“They lifted their voices to God with one accord...”
Acts 4:24

PRAY WITH YOUR CHURCH, GATHER IN HOMES OR ASSEMBLE IN PUBLIC PLACES

United by a Prayer for the World, Christians from all over the world, from different cultures and denominations, from many diverse streams will gather in their homes, or where appropriate, assemble in stadiums, public auditoriums and open squares and many will devote portions of their Sunday morning Service to united prayer.

Some meetings will be small. Others will be large, but each one will be praying with the same vision of repentance and hope. As at the first Pentecost, we’ll worship God openly in Christ’s name and pray for the healing and blessing of the nations. As much as possible, we are seeking to gather in places beyond the walls of our church buildings.
On this day we are all praying with the world as we pray for the world.

To encourage unity in Prayer, please make no changes to the Prayer for the world

Starting a New Centre - Training in Durban

31 Jul 2009
1 Aug 2009

New Centre training

The training will encompass the following:

  • The Initial Vision - formulating and writing down the vision; choosing a name; affliation to ACFL.
  • Forming a Steering Committee - including how to and why, and who should serve on this committee - their qualifications of servant leadership and qualities and skills; holding an open meeting and the goals of the steering committee.
  • Completing a Community Survey - surveying abortion providers and compiling local statistics; gathering referral information.
  • Refining the Vision and creating a Mission Statement
  • Becoming a Nonprofit Organisation: how to; the advantages and how to obtain tax exemption; setting up a constitution.
  • Establishing a Working Board: What is a Board of Directors - why do we need a Board, who should serve on the Board; the structure of a Board; functions of the Board; the AGM and developing policies and procedures.
  • Intensive Planning to Begin Operations - Public Relations, managing finances, fundraising, facility, supplies, training; the Centre Director's role; and his/her relationship with the Board
  • When you Open - annual and strategic planning; assessment of your centre.

Who should attend?

Pastors, Centre Directors, Steering Committee Members and Board Members - all those  who are in the infancy stages of planning a centre, those who have very new centres that lack structure or progress, those that have older centres that have become stagnant and those whose centres are struggling - centres that also perhaps lack structure or have a dysfunctional board.

Fan into Flame training for new centres feedback:

  • Thank you Gail for your passion to help us towards perfection... we will try to make you proud.  Thanks for your hard, hard work at ACfL, and to Christina for your hard work in helping Gail with the manual.
  • Gail's heart and passion was such a blessing
  • Impressed with layout of manual which is based on experience;
  • An excellent tool that will definitely be used continuously.
  • It was an eye-opener.  I think it is a must for anyone wanting to start a centre.

Global Day of Prayer

27 May 2007
27 May 2007

Global Day of PrayerThis year on 27 May 2007, we are trusting that for the first time in history each of the 220 nations of the world will join together in humbling themselves before God on Pentecost Sunday, incorporating an estimated 400 to 500 million Christians around the world.
If, as a Christian, you are concerned about the crime, poverty and ungodliness of our continent and globe, then you cannot afford to miss this opportunity to join millions of others with the same heart, to call on God to pour out His unlimited mercy and grace on our land.
Rather than a single event, the Global Day of Prayer can be viewed as a process which seeks to establish a lifestyle of prayer, as well as to catalyze Christians to become actively involved in practical projects to transform their communities. To this end, the following important initiatives have been planned to take place in our community this year:
17 May – 26 May: 10 Days of Repentance & Prayer (24/7 day and night prayer)
27 May: Global Day of Repentance & Prayer on Pentecost Sunday
90 Days of Generocity 28 May - 28 August 2007

At the last City Pastors meeting in Durban the following suggestions were made:

  • That we encourage every local church to set some time during their Sunday celebration on 27 May 2007 for focussed prayer
  • There will be regions who will arrange their own central venue to assembles for prayer form 3 pm - 5 pm.
  • Highway Radio 101.5 FM will broadcast some of our prayers on air in the morning and afternoon.
  • Our emphasis this year will be the 90 days of generocity, which will be co-ordinated by Pasotr Brett Nixon-James

National Call to 10 DAYS of Night & Day Prayer

21 May 2009
30 May 2009

We invite the local church and community to join millions of Christians around the world in 10 Days of continuous prayer and intercession for the spiritual transformation of our communities, cities and nations.  During these ten days of 24/7 prayer, the focus will be on humbling ourselves before God, dedicating our lives and communities to Him, and declaring His Word and purpose over our cities and nations. People will gather in all kinds of venues and homes, at different times of the day, connecting in various ways of 24/7 prayer.

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken;

and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

(Acts 4:31)

This time of continuous prayer from Ascension Day (21st) will conclude with the Global Day of Prayer on 31 May as a day of prayer and repentance.

10 Day Prayer Guide provides topical prayer information for each day leading up to Pentecost. Copies of all the translations of the 10 Day Prayer Guide are available at this link http://www.globaldayofprayer.com/10days.php or phone (+27 21) 856 3130.

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER 2011

12 Jun 2011

Global Day of PrayerRemember to plan the 10 days of continued Pray and fasting before and 120 days of generosity after this day.

Most pastors agree to dedicate time from their services on the day. That is to allow much more people to pray on the day as a practical arrangement. A few zones plan to held a gathering as a symbol of unity the afternoon organised through the different fraternals.

To the Church of Jesus Christ in South Africa

A call to a national day of prayer for the elections: 20 March 2009

We are in a very serious time in the history of our nation. It is not the first time, but it is certainly a serious time.  In 1994 we saw how God answered us in what was described as the “miracle of South Africa.”  But we sure need another miracle now – fortunately we have the same God (Heb.13:8) that helped us then and many other times.

With this email you will find a personal letter by dr. Michael Cassidy and also prayer guidelines on how to pray for the elections.

Let us mobilise entire congregations, communities and towns/cities to pray.

We are now at a point where we need to realize we are standing before a God-size problem. We do not really have solutions, answers or the power to bring forth change. But God has. Let us therefore ask the church to beseech God to help us.

The Ultimate Goal (TUG) Day of Prayer at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 11 April. Please print out as many copies as you like and post them in prominent places in your church.

For logistic reasons, stadium officials are limiting us to 20,000 participants to attend on that day on a ticketed basis. Although the stadium is being given to us for free, there are still costs of security, clean up, etc. that we will be required to pay. These total costs come to R21 per person.

Thus we will need to charge a fee for each person of R10 (compared to R40 being charged in Cape Town for a similar event). Tickets will be available from Wednesday, 24 March at the TUG office at Westville Baptist Church between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, phone 031 811 1552.

Tickets will be available at the TUG Networking Meetings this Wednesday morning, 24 March, and Thursday evening, 25 March.  You may also contact members of The TUG Team to obtain tickets (some of the team’s contact numbers are below).  There will also be Area Champions who will have tickets available in local communities and we will get that information to you as soon as possible.  Please serve as a Champion for your church by promoting this very special event and collecting their ticket money. Tickets will need to be paid for up front. We look forward to seeing you at the Prayer Day at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 11 April.

with missions locally, nationally and globally.

very touching individual experiences "at grass roots".  There are those
