and we are working TOGETHER so that MANY MORE can "Praise God"

The Vision and first "beginning" of 30 day JESUS CRUSADE - AMAOTI -

30TH September – 29th October 2007

Amaoti is the biggest informal settlement in Kwa-Zulu Natal situated on the border of Phoenix, with over 14,000 homes (between 80,000 and 100,000 people). It is a community in darkness with a high level of crime, abuse of women and children, alcohol and drugs, high unemployment and the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Most of our street children come from this area.

We first responded to the plight of the undernourished, sick children in 2001 and in the past 6 years have seen our God change lives and set captives free.

3 years ago Tich Smith stood on the soccer field of the Brookdale Primary School looking over Amaoti and the Lord showed him that shacks would come down , houses would go up and thousands would come to know and praise Him. Tich asked “how Lord?” and God showed him to “pitch a tent and preach the word”.

Today 950 shacks are coming down and houses going up as the government tries to formalize this dark place , and we are pitching a 5,000 seater tent to preach the word.

The challenge is to make sure we catch the new converts and give them a solid foundation, working alongside the existing churches and building up new ones as the thousands come to know Jesus.

We are looking to the church of the Lord Jesus to unite as one and join the army of God as He recruits for this battle. We are praying on the site (on the buffer zone between Amaoti and Brookdale, Phoenix) on Wednesdays (starting at Harvest church from 8.15 – 9.30 and then on site from 10 – 11), Saturdays from 9 – 10 and Sundays from 10 – 11. Our strategy is to soften the enemy with powerful prayer blows, and send in the scouts (the local Christians from the Amaoti community).

We need churches to join the prayer platoons and to take up some of the days to run the discipleship training from 3 – 5 each afternoon, assist with ushering and after the altar call ministry. We are building a roster now as the Lord leads us to be equipped and ready, fully trained for action. He has clearly shown us that we are at war.

Africa Enterprise will be working with us for the first and last weeks, Ray McCauley and the Rhema team will be doing the praise and worship and preaching the 2nd week, Angus Buchan and others will be assisting with one or two other nights.

If God is stirring your heart to “sign up for action” you can call the “Operational room” co-ordinators Joan Smith on 083 778 6187, Renske Aerts on 082 852 5892 or Tich Smith on 082 442 7872.
